Stu found a very curious mask... but was reluctant to put it on...
namely because it was taller than he was.

Stu stood on the edge of the ravine.
He knew he was on the brink of something incredible.
He wasn't sure what it was, perhaps it was the edge of the world...
... The beginning of another.

A gnomon. Cool... but why did Stu find it deep in a cave?
It's mounted solidly to the ground... so what good is it?
The sun can't possibly reach this far into the twisting turning cave... weird.

Here's a little creature lurking in the murky water... never do see much more of him.
Stu is oblivios to his presence among the other smooth 'stepping stones'.

The place is crawling with snakes.
Stu hates snakes.

Stu's got a favorite hat. This is NOT it... this one lets in too much rain.
Bogus.

Blog was morphing into a comic strip... so I need to stop that for now.
I intend to keep Stu busy... but not neccessarily on a linear path... we'll see.

Here he is looking out the window of his den. A distant shadow was skulking about in the drizzly rain.
Hmmm. Perhaps he should investigate.

He was free... what a relief.
He swore never to try something so stupid again...
... at least without a backup plan.
:)

His only hope was to get the whole stein rocking!
He pushed and shoved and finally.....

Stu realized his predicament... this was serious.
Especially since he was too short to climb the walls of the stein!

Stu couldn't believe what he had just done.
His mind wasn't clear and he still had to get out of the stein.
Urp.
Oh, the thougth of it all made him dizzy.

Tragedy has struck! How will he ever get out of this?
Stu is helplessly stuck treading ale.

Stu realizes that this is just as good a place as any to fill up on supplies.
Now... see if he can dip his canteen in without falling....

Stu couldn't believe his eyes.... the stein was bigger than he was!
And there was a strong smell of ale in the air!

He wasn't quite sure, but it appeared to be
the end of a giant spear... and it was still quite sharp...

Here is the KINGTOAD.
I don't yet know what he actually does in the story...
.. or even if I am going to use him at all.
Just had to show you what I had sketched though.

Yes, yes... I need work on Kangaroos.
They too are a tough species to sketch.

Here are the remains of some ancient pottery.
The adventure continues as the young lemmings find a map etched...
... to the inside surface of the broken pot.

One of my favorite little characters of late is this LEMMING.
I am going to practice some 'expressions' of his soon... but for now...
Here he is stepping into a dim cave on his passage thru the mountain.

Sketching WEASELS again.
These guys are really tough... I can't figure out why exactly... just tough.
I will be slowly developing the characters on this one... so keep your eyes open.

There are some great clues in this book... "Purpose Drive Life" , by Rick Warren.

Everyone gets tired every now and then... and this has been a very long week.

Just had a ggglitcccch with blogging.
My advice to you is DON'T try to mess with the Template by hand-coding your html.
Sheesh.
I can't get the page to read correctly in my browser right now unless I hit 'refresh'.
I'll learn from my lessons... someday.

Here is another sketch of my TOAD.
He's standing in a chilly mountain stream... so his tracks are covered up.
He is going to be a great adventurer... I just need to finish writing the book!

Here is a little lemming may look timid, but he has a brave heart.
He is one of the main characters in my children's book...
The Great Lemming Adventures.

One of the toughest characters are the WEASELS.
They have curious body form and I find that the 'curves' need
to be exagerated. I will need to design differences in the weasels too,
since there are two of them... Roger and Jonathan.

Here is a little TOAD that doesn't have a name yet...but he makes
one wicked good "Bug Salad".

Here is Connor. A falcon friend of the weasels.
I'll give you a heads up on the story as we go, but for now you can just
sit back and watch the characters develop.

I wasn't sure about Blogging on the weekend... and most likely it won't happen
on a consistent basis. But since I'm here I will toss up this little guy.

I am working on a children's book about weasels. This is NOT a weasel.
This is another character in the book named Kit. I will get some weasels up
here when I develop their characters a bit more.
